Environmental Carolinas believes that businesses strive to improve their pro-environmental efforts and that customers, employees and the communities play an important, integrated role in monitoring those efforts.

We encourage Eco Carolinas Certified businesses to proudly demonstrate actions they have taken in greening their businesses from the inside-out.

Environmental Carolinas also believes that a critical component of this process is assuring customers, employees and the community of the integrity of the Eco Carolinas Certification.

Our industry-first, "Double Verification" process includes "Voice of the Marketplace" feedback and expert review from an environmental expert panel called "Environmental Carolinas Monitoring Panel."

PRESENTING
THE ENVIRONMENTAL CAROLINAS MONITORING PANEL

The Environmental Carolinas Monitoring Panel (ECMP) was established to:

  1. Provide industry-expert insight as part of Environmental Carolinas'  "Double Verification" process.  Double Verification combines Voice of the Marketplace with industry-expert review.
  2. Ensure a more thorough a review process for Eco Carolinas Certification activities (including waste reduction, recycling, and environmental office/building processes).
  3. Create an independent panel that reviews feedback and determines the best steps to address feedback with the Eco Carolinas Certified business.
  4. Assist Eco Carolinas Certified businesses with addressing feedback issues.
  5. Determine corrective actions if the ECMP’s recommendations are not addressed by an Eco Carolinas Certified business.

The ECMP includes:

Jeff Desart

Jeff DeSart
Richard Lloyd-Roberts

How the Double Verification process works:

  1. A business completes the requirements required by Environmental Carolinas to obtain Eco Carolinas Certification.
  2. The business agrees to implement the activities identified in their Eco Carolinas Certification assessment. The business also agrees to publicize its environmental efforts to customers, employees and the community whenever possible.
  3. When a customer, employee or someone from the community completes the Feedback form, about a matter of recycling, waste reduction or business/office issues, it is forwarded to the ECMP for review and resolution.
  4. The ECMP will review the corrective action and determine if the result is sufficient to uphold the intent of the Eco Carolinas Certification process.
  5. The business is notified of the issue for resolution. Environmental Carolinas will work with the ECMP to resolve the feedback issue.
  6. Failure of the business to satisfactorily resolve the matter with the ECMP will result in the loss of the Eco Carolinas Certification.
